Notification pay allows patients and guarantors to use a computer or mobile device to make secure online payments of outstanding balances without having to log into the Patient Portal. They are notified by SMS and e-mail messages.

Benefits:

This workflow improves patient pay yield and reduces days in Accounts Receivable.

  • Patients may have questions regarding thisl functionality; leverage the resources linked to understand what the Portal has to offer. The more staff are familiar, the more they can share the benefits to patients.

  • Keep in mind that patients cannot contact athenahealth directly if they have troubleshooting concerns regarding the Portal (for example, trouble logging in, how to use functionality, how to register). It will be the responsibility of the practice to assist them.

    • There are many resources via O-help and the Success Community, but if your question/concern cannot be answered by reviewing those, you may submit a case for further assistance.
