Manage Charge Entry Batches

This page allows you to reassign a charge entry batch to another staff member, edit fields on the charge entry batch (for example, the target amount), or delete a charge entry batch with 0 claims posted. This page is accessible if your practice has the Charge Entry Batches feature enabled.
You can also view the claims in a charge entry batch and display the Claim Action page to add claim notes to claims in a batch.
On the Main Menu, click Claims. Under CHARGE ENTRY, click Manage Charge Entry Batches
Your practice must have the Charge Entry Batches feature enabled to access this page, and you must have the "Billing Admin: Charge Entry Batches" user permission to access this page.
- Display the Manage Charge Entry Batches page: On the Main Menu, click Claims. Under CHARGE ENTRY, click Manage Charge Entry Batches.
- Locate the charge entry batch in the list. You can use the filter fields to limit the display. (The list is sorted alphabetically by user within open/close status.)
- Click the update
link.
The batch details appear in the fields at the top of the page. - Edit fields as needed.
Note: The Opened by field is a free-text field in which you enter a username. It does not function like the Assigned To field for manual or time of service payment batches. - Click Save.
The updated batch re-appears in the list of batches below.
- Display the Manage Charge Entry Batches page: On the Main Menu, click Claims. Under CHARGE ENTRY, click Manage Charge Entry Batches.
- Locate the charge entry batch in the list. (The list is sorted alphabetically by user within open/close status.)
- Click the view claims link. The View Claims for Charge Entry Batch # page appears.
- Click the Claim Action page link to display the Claim Action page. On this page, you can add a note to the claim and take action on it.
- Display the Manage Charge Entry Batches page: On the Main Menu, click Claims. Under CHARGE ENTRY, click Manage Charge Entry Batches.
- Locate the charge entry
batch in the list.
The list is sorted alphabetically by user within open/close status.
Important: You can delete only batches with 0 in the TOTAL CLAIMS column. You cannot delete a batch with any claims in it. - Click the delete link.
A warning message appears. - Click OK to delete the batch or Cancel to preserve it.

The total number of claims physically posted in the batch so far. |
Closed |
The date on which the batch was closed. A batch can be closed only if the values in the "Target #Claims" and "Total Claims" columns match. Note: For closed batches, Target #Claims may not match Total Claims if claims have been deleted or a void re-created. |
