The percentage and dollar amount of claims holding for enrollment-related reasons decreases as you complete these enrollment tasks:

Typically, organizations receive remittance much faster when they complete transactions electronically.
Note: The Revenue Cycle Efficiency bars include only transactions that can be completed electronically.
The Revenue Cycle Efficiency section also provides this information:
- Average time it takes to receive your remittances and payments
- Estimated time savings if you complete outstanding ERA and EFT enrollment tasks
The percentage of transactions your organization completes electronically increases when you complete these enrollment tasks:
- Electronic remittance
- Electronic payments

The enrollment detail table on the Payer Enrollment Readiness Dashboard provides a dynamic way to view and understand the work that your organization needs to complete to ensure that payers, medical groups, and providers are ready to bill.
To see a definition of each column in the table, hover the cursor over the column name.
The enrollment detail table has three views: Payers, Medical Groups, and Providers. (You can set the default view on the My Dashboard Preferences page.)
After you select the view, you can sort the results further by claim volume, dollar amount of claims holding due to enrollment reasons, or recently added (this option is not available on the Payers view). The payers listed on the Payer Enrollment Readiness Dashboard are grouped based on required enrollment work, which is called an enrollment category. This representation of a payer may encompass many insurance packages and may not match what you typically think of as a payer. Here is an example:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield is the insurance company.
- BCBS-MA is the enrollment category.
- Blue Options HMO is an insurance package that is included in the BCBS-MA enrollment category.
The Payer Enrollment Readiness Dashboard displays BCBS-MA, the enrollment category, as the payer.
Tip: If you cannot find a payer, consider whether the name of the payer is an insurance company, enrollment category, or insurance package. If the payer you are looking for is an insurance package, you may find that it's rolled up under one of the payers listed on the dashboard.
The dashboard displays only payers, providers, and medical groups that have sent or received claims or that have outstanding enrollment tasks.
We calculate claim volume based on:
- Percentage of your claims submitted to the payer (Payers view)
- Percentage of your claims submitted from the medical group or provider (Medical Groups or Providers view)
This number is based on your organization's actual claim volume, not on an average of other organizations that use athenahealth services.
We've determined that more than 100 claim holds are related to enrollment and billing setup. These claim holds are important because, in many cases, one small fix can release hundreds of claims from their HOLD status.
For a list of all enrollment-related claim holds, see this document on the Success Community: Enrollment-Related Claim Holds on the Payer Enrollment Readiness Dashboard.
Sometimes the only clear way of fixing the claim hold is to work the individual claim through the claim note. In the future, we hope to provide workflows to work claim holds in bulk from this dashboard. We would love your feedback on that idea!
athenaOne refreshes the metrics in the Claim Submission Risk and Revenue Cycle Efficiency sections every morning at 6:00 a.m. EST. athenaOne refreshes enrollment tasks as they're worked. athenaOne refreshes the number of claims in a HOLD status as they are scrubbed nightly.
Enrollment is an ongoing process — you might add a provider, a payer, or a new department that requires additional enrollment steps. Sometimes payers change their requirements and we want to make sure that you update your information in the new payer system or process so that your claims aren't denied.
Some claims hold for multiple reasons. The Payer Enrollment Readiness Dashboard displays a claim under each of its hold categories because you may need to take multiple actions to resolve enrollment-related claim holds.
For the most part, no. If a claim is submitted and rejected because EDI is not set up and athenahealth reopens the EDI task to complete it, the claim appears on the dashboard. Other rejections and denials related to enrollment don't appear.
Yes. Click Open email reminder settings in a new tab when you set your dashboard preferences. The Enrollment Email Reminder Settings page opens.
We want to hear your feedback so we can improve the enrollment process over time. Click Give Feedback at the top of the dashboard to provide feedback.
