Voided Transactions Report
You can use the Voided Transactions report in the Report Library to track void activity within your practice. This report displays charge, payment, and unapplied transactions that were voided by practice users within a specified date range. The Voided Transactions report is located on the Billing Operations tab of the Report Library.
Display the Report Library: On the Main Menu, click Reports. Under General, click Report Library. Click the Billing Operations tab. In the Standard Reports section of the tab, click run next to Voided Transactions.
To access reports on the Billing Operations tab of the Report Library, you must have the Report: Report Library: Billing Operations permission. This permission is included in the following roles:
- Practice Superuser role
- Report Reader role
Note: To activate the Voided Transactions report, use the Activate Reports page.
- Display the Report Library: On the Main Menu, click Reports. Under General, click Report Library.
- Click the Billing Operations tab.
- Click run next to Voided Transactions in the Standard Reports section of the tab.
The Run Report: Voided Transactions page appears. - From date - To date — Enter the start and end dates for the report, or select a date range from the menu. Transactions that were voided within this date range are included in the report.
- Transaction Type — Select the types of voided transactions to include in the report.
- 1. Charges — Include only voided charge transactions in the report.
- 2. Payments — Include only voided payment or unapplied transactions in the report.
Note: The report does not include unapplied transactions voided due to money being moved. - 3. Charges and Payments — Include both voided charge and payment transactions in the report.
If your organization uses provider groups, the following fields appear
- Provider Group — To report on voided transactions for specific provider groups only, click Selected and then select the provider groups from the list.
Note: The report displays transactions for the specified provider groups based on the supervising provider on the claim. - Subtotal by provider group — By default, the report is sorted by username and displays a subtotal for each username. To display subtotals by provider group instead, select this option.
- Only show subtotals — To select this option, you must first select the Subtotal by provider group option. If you select the Only show subtotals option, the report excludes individual void line items and displays only the total voided amounts for each provider group, along with the total voided amount for your organization as a whole.
Select the report format and options and run the report
- Report Format — Select the format for your report results.
- HTML table — Display the report results on your screen.
- Text (tab-delimited) — Export the report results to a .csv file in tab-delimited format.
- Text (comma-delimited) — Export the report results to a .csv file in comma-delimited format.
- Report Options — Select report options.
- Suppress Column Headings — Select this option to remove column headings from the report results.
- Suppress Report Name — Select this option to remove the report name from the report results.
- Show Filter Criteria — Select this option to include your selected filter criteria in the report results.
- Run Offline (will appear in your Report Inbox tomorrow morning) — Select this option for very long reports. Reports that are run offline appear in your Report Inbox the morning after the request.
- Click Run Report.

Provider Group |
This field appears only if your organization uses provider groups. To report on voided transactions for specific provider groups only, click Selected and then select the provider groups from the list. Note: The report displays transactions for the specified provider groups based on the supervising provider on the claim. |
Subtotal by provider group |
This field appears only if your organization uses provider groups. By default, the report displays subtotals by the username of the person who voided the transaction. To display subtotals by provider group, select this option. Note: If your organization does not use provider groups, do not select this option (it does not provide useful information). |

This field appears only if your organization uses provider groups. To select this option, you must first select the Subtotal by provider group option.
