Self Check-In
Two check-in solutions. Here's a summary of each self check-in workflow, including benefits for each.
Enhanced Self Check-in | Staff-Initiated Self Check-in |
Self check-in proactively surfaces tasks and information to patients before their upcoming appointments. Such as completing screening questionnaires, forms, copay collection, etc. This empowers patients to complete tasks from home or on-the-go.
This workflow saves practice staff time by removing initial administrative tasks from their responsibility. Patients can access ESCI workflow via the patient portal, athenaPatient, and ReminderCall text/email.

If a patient has not checked-in for their appointment and has presented at the front desk to do so, a staff member can initiate the self check-in workflow by sending a text message to the patient.
Additionally, if a staff member notices a patient hasn’t checked in, they can send the text one day prior to the appointment to encourage the patient to begin check-in. Thus, reducing time spent collecting this info with front end and/or clinical staff.
