If a device has not been installed on the computer before, the browser prompts you to install the ActiveX controls for that device. For Credit Card Plus, the available devices are the MagTek swipe and the RDM check scanner machines. athenaOne will then inspect the MagTek device to see if it is in Keyboard Wedge mode. If it is, it will try to change it to HID mode and reload the page. The device needs to be in HID mode at all times.
The Status field displays which mode the device is in. - Click Refresh.
If the Status field displays "Connected: HID Mode," you can test the machine: swipe a credit card, and a status message appears in the Test field, confirming that track data are available. - Click Clear to clear the test message.
If the Status field does not display "Connected," one of the following is an issue:- The ActiveX control did not install or did not have permission to load.

- Log back into athenaOne.
- Unplug the MagTek device from your computer, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
