Provider Dictation Settings
This page allows you to set the dictation vendor preference for each provider in your practice.
On the Main Menu, click Settings > Clinicals. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Chart/Encounter, click Provider Dictation Settings
You must have the Clinicals Admin permission to access this page. You can set provider dictation settings only for dictation partners that are configured for your practice.
You can specify the dictation vendor preference for each provider in your practice on the Provider Dictation Settings page.
- Display the Provider Dictation Settings page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Clinicals. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Chart/Encounter, click Provider Dictation Settings.
- Click Add new under Provider Dictation Settings.
The Add Provider Dictation Setting view appears. - Provider Username — Enter the first two or more characters of the provider's username, then select the username from the matching list.
- MDP Partner — Select a dictation service from the menu.
- Setting — In most cases, you can accept the default selection for this field. If two providers want to interact with a vendor's dictation software differently, make the appropriate selection:
- Dictate in athenaOne — Indicates a product that includes Start Transcription links in athenaOne and saves dictations directly to athenaOne.
- Dictate in other application — Indicates a product that is not part of athenaOne, such as an app on a mobile phone or tablet, that saves dictations to that device but can then send the dictation files to athenaOne.
- Click Save, or click Save and Add Another.
Note: You can associate each provider with only one dictation service. For example, you can set up Dr. Smith to use one Marketplace dictation partner with a setting of Dictate in athenaOne for your practice, but Dr. Smith cannot also use another Marketplace partner's dictation service with a setting of Dictate in other application in your practice.
