Credentialing Worklist
The Credentialing Worklist allows you to view credentialing tasks and documents that require attention from your practice and/or providers.
Note: The athenahealth Credentialing Service is no longer available for purchase. Only organizations that purchased the Credentialing Service before 2016 can use the service. The Credentialing Service is for Self-Service use only. athenahealth does not assist in the provider credentialing process.
On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Credentialing, click Credentialing Worklist
To access this page, your practice must use the Credentialing Service, and you must have the Practice Credentialing Manager role.
- Display the Credentialing Worklist page: On the Main
Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Credentialing, click Credentialing Worklist.
- Use the filters at the top of the page to display only the tasks that meet specific criteria. For example, you may want to view only the tasks for a specific provider, document type, or medical group.
- Do one of the following:
- To view the worklist in athenaOne, click Filter.
- To view the worklist in athenaOne and download the worklist as a .csv file, click Filter and Download and then open or save the file.
- In the "Your Tasks" section, you can click View tasks to view application tasks, welcome packet tasks, document tasks, or Web access tasks.
- Display the Credentialing Worklist page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Credentialing, click Credentialing Worklist.
- You can use the filter fields at the top of the page to display only the tasks that meet specific criteria. For example, you can display only the tasks for a specific provider or payer.
- In the "Your Tasks" section, click the View tasks link under Applications.
- Locate the row with the application task that you want to update.
- If you need help with the task, click help. In the window that opens, enter your question and click Save.
- If you want to postpone the task and remove it from your worklist, click snooze. In the window that opens, specify the number of days to snooze the task and click Save.
- If you are ready to complete the task, click work.
A window opens where you can complete the task. - Action — Select an action from the menu.
- Add note
- Generate form
- Mark as sent to payer
- Mark as complete
- Mark as not required
- You can also select Last task history or Go to full task.
- If you have a completed copy of the application in .PDF format, you can upload it to athenaOne:
- Select Upload to athenaOne.
- Click Choose File and locate the file to upload.
- Notes — Enter any notes (optional).
- Click Save.
- If you click Go to full task, a new window opens that displays all the information about the application task.
A welcome packet is available to assist with collecting demographics, professional information, and copies of necessary documents.
- Display the Credentialing Worklist page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Credentialing, click Credentialing Worklist.
- You can use the filter fields at the top of the page to display only the tasks that meet specific criteria. For example, you can display only the tasks for a specific provider or medical group.
- In the "Your Tasks" section, click the View tasks link under Welcome Packets.
- Locate the row with the application task that you want to update.
- If you need help with the task, click help. In the window that opens, enter your question and click Save.
- If you want to postpone the task and remove it from your worklist, click snooze. In the window that opens, specify the number of days to snooze the task and click Save.
- If you are ready to complete the task, click work.
A window opens where you can complete the task. - Action — Select an action from the menu.
- Add note
- Generate welcome packet
- Mark as sent to provider
- Upload welcome packet
- Upload signature forms
- Mark as needs data entry
- Mark as complete
- Mark as not required
- You can also select Last task history or Go to full task.
- If you have a completed copy of the welcome packet in .PDF format, you can upload it to athenaOne:
- Select Upload to athenaOne.
- Click Choose File and locate the file to upload.
- Notes — Enter any notes (optional).
- Click Save.
- Select Upload to athenaOne.
- If you click Go to full task, a new window opens that displays all the information about the welcome packet task.
- Display the Credentialing Worklist page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Credentialing, click Credentialing Worklist.
- You can use the filter fields at the top of the page to display only the tasks that meet specific criteria. For example, you can display only the tasks for a specific medical group or provider.
- In the "Your Tasks" section, click the View tasks link under Documents.
- Locate the row with the document task that you want to update.
- If you need help with the task, click help. In the window that opens, enter your question and click Save.
- If you want to postpone the task and remove it from your worklist, click snooze. In the window that opens, specify the number of days to snooze the task and click Save.
- If you are ready to complete the task, click work.
A window opens where you can complete the task. - You can select Upload to athenaOne or Mark as sent to athenahealth. You can also select Last task history or Go to full task.

- Locate the row with the task that you want to update.

- If you want to postpone the task and remove it from your worklist, click snooze. In the window that opens, specify the number of days to snooze the task and click Save.
- If you are ready to complete the task, click work. A window opens where you can complete the task. You can also select Last task history or Go to full task.
- Enter or update your CAQH number and username in the fields provided.
- Enter a reminder for the next attestation, that is, enter the number of business days until the next attestation.
- Upload a copy of the attestation (optional).
- Enter any notes.
- Click Save.
- If you click Go to full task, a new window opens that displays all the information about the Web access task.
- Display the Credentialing Worklist page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Credentialing, click Credentialing Worklist.
- You can use the filter fields at the top of the page to display only the tasks that meet specific criteria. For example, you can display only the tasks for specific document types or practice managers.
- Select the Show snoozed option.
- Click Filter.

Status | Select either "Escalate Client and Expired only" or "All tasks" to filter your results. |

Primary service location | Click All or click Selected and then select the locations to filter your results. |
Show snoozed | Select this option to view snoozed credentialing tasks. |

Start Date | The start date for the task. This column is available for Provider-Level Tasks. |
Action | Links to the actions that you can take for this task: work, snooze, help, and go to profile (for providers). |
Task Type | The task type. |

Information about the payer, document type, or website for a task on the worklist. |
Days on Worklist | Number of days that the task has been in the worklist. |
Impact |
The associated claim dollar hold or the holding applications for a task on the worklist (for example, 6 applications holding). Click the linked item to display detailed information about it. |
