Live Benchmarks Report
The Live Benchmarks report allows you to compare the financial performance of your practice to other athenaOne practices in your state, region, specialty, and group size.
To discuss how to improve your practice performance, please contact the CSC from athenaOne > Support > Success Community > Contact Client Support Center. We will be happy to work with you on how to achieve and exceed the athenahealth recommended best practices.

On the Main Menu, click Calendar. Under COMMUNICATIONS, click athenaNetwork, and then click the tab for live benchmarks

To access the Live Benchmarks report, you need the Live Benchmarks Access user permission (included in many roles). To disable and hide this report for your practice, please contact the CSC from athenaOne > Support > Success Community > Contact Client Support Center.

The Live Benchmarks report displays up to eight rows for your practice. However, to protect your privacy, the report displays a category row only when there are five or more practices in the category.
The report provides a 7-day average for a "real-time" view and a 91-day average for a "quarterly" view. These views show an analysis of your practice performance on a daily basis, across four "best practice" metrics.
Columns in the report
- Count — Number of practices summarized in the row
- Charge Entry lag (days) — Average length of time (in days) between the date of service and the date that the claim is entered
- HOLD lag (days) — Average number of days that claims sit in the hold bucket before being worked
- MGRHOLD lag (days) — Average number of days that claims sit in the manager hold bucket before being worked
- % of Self Pay > 90 days — Dollar-weighted percentage of open self-pay balances that are older than 90 days
Within each column, there are two metrics:
- Median — Median figure of that column, that is, the metric achieved by the average practice for that category
- Your Rank — Where you rank in that category in comparison to other practices
You can use these metrics to compare your practice to other athenaOne practices in your state, region, specialty, and group size.
