No Charge Entry Reasons
This page allows you to create, update, and delete custom reasons for marking an appointment as not requiring charge entry. Any custom no charge entry reasons that you create are available for use at checkout time (patient tab) or at charge entry, in addition to the default reasons that athenaOne provides (Duplicate Slip, No Services Performed, Multi-Resource Appointment, and Other).
On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Miscellaneous, click No Charge Entry Reasons
You must have Billing Admin or Practice Superuser permissions to access this page.
- Display the No Charge Entry Reasons page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Miscellaneous, click No Charge Entry Reasons.
- Click Add new. Additional fields appear.
- Long name — Enter the full name of the no charge entry reason.
- Short name — Enter a short name for the no charge entry reason. This name appears in reports.
- Ordering — Enter a digit to indicate the order in which the custom reason appears in the list.
- Click Save.
The new custom reason now appears in the no charge entry reasons list at checkout and charge entry time.
