Patient Case Types
For practices that use only the athenaCollector service, this page allows you to create patient case types.
Note: Patient case types are not available for patient cases created using the athenaClinicals or athenaCommunicator service.
Case types describe and categorize patient issues. You can use them to tailor patient case management for your practice. When patients call your practice with questions and issues, patient account representatives can use the athenaOne Case Management tools to open, track, record comments, review actionable items, and close patient cases.
On the Main Menu, click Settings > Practice Manager. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Miscellaneous, click Patient Case Types
Your practice must have the Case Management feature enabled to administer patient cases..
This page is accessible if your practice has the Case Management feature enabled.
- Display the Patient Case Types page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Practice Manager. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Miscellaneous, click Patient Case Types.
- Name — Enter a descriptive name for the case type.
- Types — Enter a digit representing the order that the case type should appear on the Manage Cases page.
- Click Save. The new case type appears in the list of case types below.
- Display the Patient Case Types page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Practice Manager. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Miscellaneous, click Patient Case Types.
- Click the update
link for the case type that you want to update.
The Update Case Type view appears, with the case type details in the fields at the top of the page. - Edit the fields as needed.
- Click Save.
The updated case type appears in the list below.
- Display the Patient Case Types page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Practice Manager. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Miscellaneous, click Patient Case Types.
- Click the delete link for the case type that you want to delete.
A warning message appears. - Click OK.
The deleted case type appears "grayed-out" in the list below.
You can restore the case type using the undelete link.
