When athenahealth receives mail for athenaMailbox and lockbox clients, we post the remittance and classify the rest as correspondence. Some correspondence, such as notes from patients and payer newsletters, can be scanned and posted to your Correspondence Dashboard. Other correspondence, such as magazines and tax forms, must be returned to your practice. Additionally, we occasionally receive mail for non-athenaMailbox or lockbox clients; this mail must also be returned to the practice. On the Practice Addresses page, you can specify the addresses where athenahealth should send this correspondence.
If you have more than one athenaMailbox or lockbox and you require that your correspondence for each be sent to a different mailing address, please contact the CSC by selecting Support > Create Case or Call in the Main Menu and ask us to enable the Multiple Practice Return Addresses practice setting. With this setting enabled, you can set a different practice mail return address for each athenaMailbox or lockbox.
Note: If you receive any documentation such as patient statements or other practice correspondence that does not belong to your practice, please return the letter that athenahealth generated along with the return envelope and the documentation that was received in error to:
