Service Location Mappings
This page allows you to administer the service location mappings used with the Ambulance Billing feature.
Locations are part of an ambulance claim and are also captured in the Service Type Add-on for ambulance billing. You must use the Service Locations page to manage and edit the locations serviced.
On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Ambulance Billing, click Service Location Mappings
Your practice must have the Ambulance Billing feature enabled and you must have the Billing Admin role to access this page.
- Display the Service Location Mappings page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Ambulance Billing, click Service Location Mappings.
- Click Add new.
Additional fields appear. - Provider group — Select a provider group from the menu. (This field appears only if your practice uses provider groups.)
- Pickup — Enter the pickup location (point of origin) that constitutes a contracted mileage.
- Destination — Enter the destination location that constitutes a contracted mileage.
- Mileage — Enter the contracted mileage in miles.
- Contract package — Click Choose package.
The Insurance Lookup page appears in a new window. - Policy Type — Select Standard Insurance or Case Policy.
- If you selected Standard Insurance in the Policy Type field, enter some or all of the following information.
- Insurance company name — Enter the name of the insurance company (this field is required).
- Insurance Address — Enter the address, if you have it (you can enter a partial address).
- Product Type — Select the insurance product type from the menu (for example, PPO, HMO, POS, or Medicare Supplement).
- Insurance Type — Select the insurance type from the menu (for example, Commercial or Medicare Replacement).
- If you selected Case Policy in the Policy Type field, enter some or all of the following information.
- Insurance company name — Enter the name of the insurance company (this field is required).
- Insurance Address — Enter the address, if you have it (you can enter a partial address).
- Case Policy Type — Select the case policy type from the menu (for example, Contracts, Legal, Auto Insurance, or Worker's Comp).
- Click the Lookup button.
The search results appear. - Click Select next to the package.
- Click Save or Save and Add Another.
Provider group | Select a provider group from the menu. (This field appears only if your practice uses provider groups.) |
Pickup |
Enter the pickup location (point of origin) that constitutes a contracted mileage. This field acts as a claim filter (that is, a claim needs to meet this criterion in order for this mapping to be active). |

Enter the destination location that constitutes a contracted mileage. This field acts as a claim filter (that is, a claim must meet this criterion in order for this mapping to be active). |
Mileage |
Enter the contracted mileage in miles. If the pickup and destination locations are correct, the mileage on the claim will reflect the value entered in the Mileage field. |
Contract package |
Click Choose package to select an insurance or case policy. This insurance package is associated with the contracted mileage. This field acts as a claim filter (that is, a claim must meet this criterion in order for this mapping to be active). |

Provider Group | Select a provider group to filter the results by provider group. (This field appears only if your practice uses provider groups.) |
Pickup | Enter the location where the ambulance picks up a patient. |
Destination | Enter the location where the ambulance delivers a patient. |
Contract package |
Enter the location where the ambulance delivers a patient. Click Choose package and select an insurance package or case policy to filter the results by insurance package or case policy. This package or policy is associated with the contracted mileage. |
