Attachment Types

This page allows you to administer attachment types for your practice if your practice has the Claim Attachments feature enabled. An attachment type describes the kind of document required for an attachment. Attachments must be in .pdf format.

 

Every attachment type belongs to an attachment class. athenahealth maintains attachment classes, but you can define your own attachment types within each class.

 

On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Billing Slips and Forms, click Attachment Types

 

 

 

  1. Display the Attachment Types page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Billing Slips and Forms, click Attachment Types.
  2. Name — Enter the name of the attachment type.
  3. Class — Select the attachment class to which this attachment type belongs. (These classes are maintained by athenahealth.)
  4. Notes — Enter any notes about this attachment type.
  5. Ordering — Enter a number to indicate the order for this attachment type on the Manage Attachments page.
  6. Click Save.

 

  1. Display the Attachment Types page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Billing Slips and Forms, click Attachment Types.
  2. Click the update link of the attachment type that you want to edit. The Update Attachment Type view appears at the top of the page.
  3. Edit the fields as needed.
  4. Click Save. The updated attachment type appears in the list below.

 

  1. Display the Attachment Types page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Billing Slips and Forms, click Attachment Types.
  2. Click the delete link of the attachment type that you want to delete. A warning message appears.
  3. Click OK to delete the attachment type, or click Cancel to preserve it. The deleted attachment type appears "grayed-out" in the list below. You can restore the attachment type using the undelete link.

 

 

Name

The name of the attachment type.

Class

The attachment class to which this attachment type belongs.

Notes

Any notes about this attachment type.

Ordering

Number that indicates the order for this attachment type in the Type menu on the Manage Attachments page.
