Exploding Codes
This page allows you to create and administer a table of unique short-hand codes ("exploding codes") that are mapped to procedure codes. When entered at charge entry, exploding codes are automatically replaced by the procedure codes to which they are mapped. Exploding codes can be used when a standard combination of services is included in a specific visit or service. This functionality can also be used when splitting codes automatically into professional and technical components to be billed on split claims.
Note: To locate and edit an existing exploding code, click the find existing exploding codes link at the top of this page to display search filters.
