Case Worklist

This page allows you to access the list of patient cases by user and by case status (Open, Closed, Hold). Patient cases listed in the Case Dashboard grid are non-clinical patient cases — that is, they are not part of the athenaClinicals service.

 

On the Workflow Dashboard, click a link number for a user listed in the Case Dashboard. The Case Worklist appears in the Task Bar

 

 

 

Your practice must have the Case Management feature enabled to access this page.

 

 

 

  1. Display the Case Worklist: On the Workflow Dashboard, click a link number for a user listed in the Case Dashboard. The Case Worklist appears in the Task Bar.
  2. In the Task Bar, all the patient cases assigned to that user appear in the worklist. The list is sorted by the Open Date, with the oldest case listed first. The case ID number provides a link to the Manage Cases page, where you can update the case.

 

  1. Display the Workflow Dashboard page: On the Main Menu, click Claims and then click Workflow Dashboard.
    The Case Dashboard appears below the Workflow Dashboard).
  2. Click the Add a new case link.
    The Manage Cases page appears.
  3. Type — Select a case type.
  4. Priority — Select a number to indicate the case priority.
  5. Status — Select the status of the case (generally, Open).
  6. Assigned to — Select the username of the staff member who should be assigned to the case.
  7. Description — Enter a text description of the case.
  8. Click Save.

 

  1. Display the Manage Cases page: On the Patient Actions Bar, click Messaging, and then click Manage Cases.
    The Manage Cases page appears, with the patient's name at the top of the page.
  2. Type — Select a case type.
  3. Priority — Select a number to indicate the case priority.
  4. Status — Select the status of the case (generally, Open).
  5. Assigned to — Select the username of the staff member who should be assigned to the case.
  6. Description — Enter a text description of the case.

 

 

 

When a patient contacts the office with administrative issues or questions, you can create a "patient case" to record the information. This page is accessible if your practice has the Case Management feature enabled. When this feature is enabled, the Case Dashboard appears at the bottom of the Workflow Dashboard page. Patient cases listed in the Case Dashboard grid are non-clinical patient cases — that is, they are not part of the athenaClinicals service.

 

The Case Dashboard displays the number of cases assigned to each user by status (Open, Closed, Hold) and by assigned username. You can add a new case or generate a worklist of cases for each user with cases assigned.

 

The Case Dashboard is restricted by Provider Group permissions, in the same way that the Workflow Dashboard is restricted by Provider Group permissions. Users see cases for patients only if they have access to the patient's provider group. If a case is not associated with a patient — for example, when you create a case using the Add a new case link — all users will be able to see the case.

 

 

To meet the specialized needs of your practice, you can use the Patient Case Types page to create customized patient case types.

 

 

 

User

The username of the person assigned to one or more cases.
Open

The number of open cases for this user.
Hold

The number of cases on hold for this user.

Add Case
Type

Select a case type. The menu is administered on the Patient Case Types page.
Priority

Select a number from the menu to indicate the case priority.
Status

Select the status of the case (generally, Open) from the menu.
Assigned to

Select the username of the staff member who should be assigned to the case from the menu.
Description

Enter a text description of the case.
