Procedure Outcomes Section
This section allows you to record the outcome of a procedure, along with any associated complications.

This section appears in the encounter for appointment types that are mapped to the "Structured Procedure Visit" or the "Exam-Only Structured Procedure Visit" encounter layout. You can use the Assign Appointment Types to Layouts page to map appointment types to encounter layouts.

- In an open encounter, scroll down to Procedure Documentation in the Intra section of the exam.
- Click the plus icon
to add a procedure template.
The outcome fields for the selected procedure template appear in the Procedure Outcomes section below. - Click in the Procedure Outcomes section to edit.
- Select a Result from the list.
Note: A selection is required. If you leave the Result field blank, an alert appears when you attempt to close the encounter. - Add a Complication. The field displays No Complications by default.
Note: If you select an option other than No Complications, a Grade drop-down menu appears. -
Select a Grade to describe the severity of the complication.
- To add more complications, click the plus icon

- To delete a complication, click the X icon.
- Enter any Notes concerning the procedure outcome.
- Click Save.

Before you can use the Procedure Outcomes section, you must specify the complications and their grades using the Procedure Complications admin page.
