Clinical Provider Order Type Charge Code Mapping

athenaOne for Hospitals & Health Systems

You can use the Charge Codes page to map charge codes to clinical provider order types for athenaOne for Hospitals billing. The charge code represents the set of attributes (strength, description, department, billing date, cost, price, revenue code, etc.) required for hospital billing.

 

Note: Charge codes for pharmaceuticals are administered using the Formulary Management page. Charge codes for non-pharmaceuticals are administered using the Charge Master page.

 

On the Main Menu, click Settings > Clinicals. In the left menu,under Practice Links — Charge Integration, click Clinical Provider Order Type Charge Code Mapping

 

 

 

You must be logged in to a department that uses athenaOne for Hospitals & Health Systems

 

You must have the Inpatient: Admin role to access this page.

 

 

  1. Display the Charge Codes page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Clinicals. In the left menu,under Practice Links — Charge Integration, click Clinical Provider Order Type Charge Code Mapping.
  2. To filter the list, use one or more of these field:
    1. Clinical Provider — Select the clinical provider from the menu.
    2. Order Type Group — Select the order type group from the menu.
    3. CPOT ID — Enter a CPOT ID.
    4. CPOT Display Name — Enter a display name.
    5. Billing Trigger — Select a billing trigger from the menu.
  3. Click Filter Charge Codes.
  4. To edit an existing CPOT charge code mapping, locate the charge code in the Charge Codes section and click edit for that charge code.

Edit these fields as needed

  1. Charge Code — Start entering the charge code and select it from the menu.
    Note: You can click Clear to clear the charge code that you entered.
  2. Billing Trigger — Click the menu and select a billing trigger.
  3. Click Save.
    Tip: You can click any column header to sort rows in ascending or descending order.

 

  1. Display the Charge Codes page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Clinicals. In the left menu,under Practice Links — Charge Integration, click Clinical Provider Order Type Charge Code Mapping.
  2. Scroll down to the Charge Codes heading and click Export CPOT Charge Code Mappings (at the right, just above the column headings).
    A .csv file of the CPOT charge code mappings is downloaded to your computer.
