Manage Patient Rounding Lists
athenaOne for Hospitals & Health Systems
This page allows you to generate a patient rounding list for a given census date. The rounding list is used to track patients in a hospital, nursing home, or other care facility. You can filter and order the list in a variety of ways. By default, the list includes all patients admitted on any date, even if they have since been discharged. Enter a census date to limit the list to patients currently admitted on that date.
On the Main Menu, click Patients. Under Care Coordination, click Patient Rounding Lists
Your practice must have the Patient Rounding List feature enabled, and you must have the Manage Patient Rounding Lists user permission to access this page.

The Patient Rounding Lists feature allows you to record your patients' hospital admission and discharge events from the Quickview, view patients' admissions history, manage rounding lists, and even create claims directly from hospital admissions.
If a patient on the rounding list had a claim created for a service performed on the census date, the claim is displayed if you select Yes from the Show claims menu.
When you record a patient's hospital admission, the patient appears on rounding lists. When you record a patient's hospital discharge, the patient still appears on rounding lists (as discharged) unless you filter the list by Census date.
If you use an external system to manage your hospital patient and billing information, you may want to contact your Customer Success Manager to discuss whether any interfaces need to be built in order to populate the Patient Class and Patient Class Type fields with data from your external system. Populating these fields can help you verify whether charges will violate Medicare and Medicaid 24- and 72-hour hold rules when you work with another HIS.
If you select the patient insurance when you create the record for a hospital admission, you can create a claim right from the Quickview, from the hospital admission history, or from the Manage Patient Rounding Lists page using the create claim link.
If your practice uses athenaEnterprise, the patient's admit history includes admissions from other provider groups. This feature is limited by your provider group user permissions, unless you have the user permission called Enterprise: Other Provider Groups Admit History. With this permission, the view admit history link includes admissions to all other provider groups, regardless of your existing provider group permissions.
Note: You cannot create claims from the view of Other Provider Groups Admit History, although you can view the insurance details.
