Referral Tracking Report
The Referral Tracking report provides visibility into the progress and status of referrals. You can also use this report to evaluate the performance of referral management and to understand details of referral patterns.
Display the Report Library: On the Main Menu, click Reports. Under General, click Report Library. Click the Clinicals tab. In the Standard Reports section of the tab, click run next to Referral Tracking Report.
To access reports on the Clinicals tab of the Report Library, you must have the Clinicals user permission and the Report: Report Library: Clinicals permission. The Report: Report Library: Clinicals permission is included in the following roles:
- Practice Superuser role
- Report Reader role
Note: You must apply at least one type of date filter.
- Display the Report Library: On the Main Menu, click Reports. Under General, click Report Library.
- Click the Clinicals tab.
- Click run next to Referral Tracking Report in the Standard Reports section of the tab.
The Run Report: Referral Tracking Report page appears. - Select the dates, filters, optional columns, and report format and options (see the Field Reference table below for details).
Note: We strongly recommend that you select only the optional columns you need and apply a short date range (for example, one week) to ensure the report runs successfully. Selecting many optional columns or using long date ranges may increase the runtime or cause the report to fail. - Click Run Report.
In the report results, you can click any column heading to sort the table by that column.
This is not a full list, but the information in this report can be categorized as follows:
- Referral type and status
- Document information for the relevant order
- Patient information, like name, date of birth, ID, and contact information, and insurance information
- Scheduling dates for the referral
- Diagnosis information related to the referral
- Sending provider/practice information
- Receiving provider/practice information
- Order creation, submittal, and approval dates
- Service information and dates
- Follow-up information

To display referrals created within a specific time frame, enter the start and end dates for the referrals that you want to include in the report, or select a date range from the menu. |
| Scheduled Date or Date of Service | To display referrals that are internal or outgoing and have a manually documented date of service or referrals that are internal and have an automatically detected appointment date matching the specified range, enter the start and end dates for the referrals that you want to include in the report, or select a date range from the menu. |
| Department | To report on referrals associated with specific departments only, click Selected and then select the departments from the list. |
| Show Patient Name, DOB, and Phone Number | Check this box to include this information in the report. |
| Referral Type |
To report on specific types of referrals, click Selected and then select the referral types to include from the list.
