Appointment Cancellation Worklist
This page allows you to view the appointments that require cancellation and rescheduling.
On the Workflow Dashboard, under the Appts to Resched column, click the number for the department row or total row. The Appointment Cancellation Worklist appears in the Task Bar
- Display the Appointment Cancellation Worklist: On the Workflow Dashboard, under the Appts to Resched column, click the number for the department row or total row. The Appointment Cancellation Worklist appears in the Task Bar.
- In the Task Bar, check the checkbox for the appointments that you want to cancel.
- Reason for Cancellation — Select the reason for the cancellation.
- Click Cancel Checked Appointment(s).
The Appointment Rescheduling
page appears with links to (reschedule
appointment(s), reschedule
using Multi-Resource, or go
to patient's quickview.
Typically, these appointments require rescheduling, so after you cancel the appointment, you can click on the link to reschedule appointment that appears on the Appointment Rescheduling page.
Note: After you cancel the appointment, it is removed from the Appointment Cancellation Worklist; on the Workflow Dashboard, the number in the Appts to Resched column is decreased by the number of appointments that you cancelled.
- Generate an Appointment Cancellation Worklist: On the Workflow Dashboard, under the Appts to Resched column, click the number for the department row or total row. The Appointment Cancellation Worklist appears in the Task Bar.
- In the Appointment Cancellation Worklist in the Task Bar, select the patient that you want to remove.
- Click Keep Appointment (at the bottom left). This removes the appointment from the worklist, and retains the appointment on the provider's schedule.
Note: This function is not available from the Check-in page.
The appointment list is grouped under headings that show the scheduled provider and appointment date. Within each grouping, the appointments are listed by appointment time.
The appointments on this list are not yet cancelled. They are "frozen" (by a schedule administrator in your practice) and tagged as appointments that require cancellation and rescheduling. They remain in status f (filled) until you cancel them (via the Cancel Appointment page).
An appointment appears on this list if, on the Manage Appointments page, you select a slot with a patient in it, click the Delete This Slot checkbox, and click Change Checked Appointments.
After these appointments are cancelled, the status changes to "x" (cancelled), and the appointments disappear from this list.
