Appointment Rescheduling
This page allows you to cancel and reschedule a patient appointment, and to remove an appointment from the Appointment Cancellation Worklist without cancelling the appointment.
Click the appointment in the Today's Appointments worklist. On the Appointment page, click Cancel Appointment, select a reason from the Reason for Cancellation menu, and then click Cancel Checked Appointments.
On the Workflow Dashboard, click a row under the Appts to Resched column to generate the Appointment Cancellation Worklist. In the worklist, click the patient name for the appointment that you want to cancel
Method 1
- In the Today's Appointments worklist, click the linked patient name to display the Appointment in the Workspace.
- From the Appointment page, select the appointments that you want to cancel.
- Reason for cancellation — Select a reason for the cancellation.
- Click Cancel Appointment(s).
A confirmation message appears with links to (reschedule
appointment(s), reschedule using Multi-Resource,
or create appointment tickler.
Note: The appointment is removed from the Appointment Cancellation Worklist; on the Workflow Dashboard, the number in the Appts to Resched column is decreased by the number of appointments that you cancelled.
Method 2
- Generate an Appointment Cancellation Worklist: In the Workflow Dashboard Appts to Resched column, click any greater-than-zero linked number (for the department row you want). The Appointment Cancellation Worklist appears in the Task Bar.
- In the Appointment Cancellation Worklist in the Task Bar, select the appointments that you want to cancel.
- Reason for cancellation — Select the reason for the cancellation.
- Click Cancel Appointment(s). The Appointment Rescheduling page appears with links to (reschedule appointment(s), reschedule using Multi-Resource, or create appointment tickler.
- Generate an Appointment Cancellation Worklist: In the Workflow Dashboard Appts to Resched column, click any greater-than-zero linked number (for the department row you want). The Appointment Cancellation Worklist appears in the Task Bar.
- In the Appointment Cancellation Worklist in the Task Bar, click the patient name for the appointment that you want to remove. The Cancel Appointment page appears in the Workspace, with all appointments for the selected patient listed at the top.
- Select the appointments that you want to remove from the worklist.
- Click Keep Appointments. The appointment is restored to the providers schedule, and a confirmation message appears (Mark Appointments as Not Requiring Cancellation) showing the appointment information, with a link to go to the patient's Quickview.
Note: This function is not available from the Check-in page.
