Common Procedure Codes

This page allows you to customize your practice-specific list of commonly used procedures. You can add, update, and delete items from the list of procedures and codes that appears as the default display when you access the Procedure Lookup tool from the Charge Entry page.

 

On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Fee and Allowable Schedules, click Common Procedure Codes

 

 

 

To access this page, you need the "Practice Set-Up: Common Procedure Codes" permission, which is included in the following roles:

  • *Practice Set-Up
  • *Practice Superuser
  • Management — Collector
  • Management — Communicator
  • Superuser — Collector
  • *Clinicals-only Practice Superuser

 

 

  1. Display the Common Procedure Codes page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Fee and Allowable Schedules, click Common Procedure Codes.
  2. If yours is a Provider Group Enterprise organization, select a provider group from the Provider Group menu and click Continue.
  3. Enter the procedure code that you want to add to the Common Procedure Codes List. If you do not know the code, enter a period (.) or question mark (?) in the text box to access the Procedure Code Lookup tool, then locate and select the procedure code that you want.
  4. Click Save. The procedure code is added to the Common Procedure Codes List.

 

  1. Display the Common Procedure Codes page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Fee and Allowable Schedules, click Common Procedure Codes.
  2. If yours is a Provider Group Enterprise organization, select a provider group from the Provider Group menu and click Continue.
  3. Find the procedure code that you want to update. Click the update link to the left of the procedure code.
  4. Update the procedure code in the Common Procedure Code text box.
  5. Click Save. The procedure code is updated in the Common Procedure Codes List.

 

  1. Display the Common Procedure Codes page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Fee and Allowable Schedules, click Common Procedure Codes.
  2. If yours is a Provider Group Enterprise organization, select a provider group from the Provider Group menu and click Continue.
  3. Find the procedure code that you want to delete.
  4. Click the delete link to the left of the procedure code. When the prompt appears, click OK to confirm that you want to delete the entry.

 

  1. Display the Common Procedure Codes page: On the Main Menu, click Settings > Billing. In the left menu, under Practice Links — Fee and Allowable Schedules, click Common Procedure Codes.
  2. If yours is a Provider Group Enterprise organization, select a provider group from the Provider Group menu and click Continue.
  3. Find the procedure code that you want to restore.
  4. Click the undelete link to the left of the procedure code.
  5. When the prompt appears, click OK to confirm that you want to restore the deleted entry.

 

  1. On the Charge Entry or Claim Edit page, enter a period (.) or question mark (?) in any procedure code field to access the Procedure Code Lookup tool.
  2. Search for the code that you want to add to your personal procedure code list that does not appear on the provider group or practice's procedure code list. (When you add the first procedure code, athenaOne creates the My Procedure Codes list.)
  3. From the list of results, click the link to Add to my procedure codes for the procedure code that you want to add to your list.
  4. When the prompt appears, click OK to add the procedure code to the list.

 

  1. On the Charge Entry or Claim Edit page, enter a period (.) or question mark (?) in any procedure code field to access the Procedure Code Lookup tool.
  2. Find the procedure code that you want to delete, and click the delete link to the right of the description of the procedure code.
