Day End Review
This page allows you to view a summary of claim and appointment status information entered for patients in the appointment schedule for any given day. It provides a color-coded status guide that indicates the status of each appointment or claim, showing which claims require editing before they can be billed.
On the Main Menu, click Calendar. Under APPOINTMENTS, click Day End Review
On the Main Menu, click Calendar. Under APPOINTMENTS, click Today's Appointments. In the left menu, click Day end review
athenahealth recommends that you use this page to reconcile appointments at the end of the day. All scheduled appointment should either be checked in or cancelled to ensure appropriate auditing of missing claims.
Note: If your organization uses the athenaEnterprise feature, your department-based user access means that this page shows data for the departments and providers associated with your username.
You can use the filter fields to display claims for a specific department, provider, or date. If you accept the default values for the filter fields, the list of appointments scheduled for today in the department you are logged in to is displayed, sorted by provider.
Tip: If an appointment is marked as not requiring charge entry, you can hover the cursor over the entry in the Status column to see the reason that the appointment is marked as not requiring charge entry and who set this status.
The bottom of the page provides appointment/claim totals.

Procedure code from the appointment. This field is blank until charge entry is performed. Hover your cursor over the procedure code to see the description of that procedure code. |
Amount |
Charge amount for each procedure. |
Entered by |
Username of the person who entered the charge. |
Status |
Current status of the appointment.
Note: A status of "Missing" can mean that the appointment has a missing slip, or it can mean that the appointment has not yet been checked out (it is still in status 2 or 3). |

Use this field to document your review of the day's activities. After you enter the note, click Save Notes. |
At the end of all Department — Provider combinations for a given Department, a charge total line appears for the entire department. |
