Automated wellness outreach (AWO) provides enhanced population health messaging capabilities to athenaOne practices. AWO uses the athenahealth clinical guidelines to identify patients who have care gaps related to wellness visits and automatically contacts a small percentage of these patients each day on an ongoing basis. Recommended appointments for care gaps also appear on the Patient Portal.
